Linda Out was the recipient of one of our 2017 Environmental Education Awards of Excellence which she received at our Spring Gathering in Castlegar.

Linda is an incredible and supportive teacher who has long been a champion of environmental education at her school.  Teaching grade 5/6 at Winlaw Elementary, Linda has been exemplary in her dedication and motivation to include a wide variety of outdoor ecology programs into her classroom and to get her students outside to learn about the wild places around them.

At CBEEN’s recent Leadership Clinic Linda stepped up into the role of President of the newly formed Kootenay Lake Local Chapter of the Environmental Education Provincial Specialist Association.  Through this volunteer effort she will support local teachers in coming together to collaborate, network and engage in professional development to improve environmental learning opportunities for students in our region.
