featureres-apr16Lee-Anne Walker is a pioneering spirit: her contributions have been vital to the development of Environmental Education in the Columbia Basin. Lee-Anne is a founding member of CBEEN and the Executive Director of the Elk River Alliance in Fernie, BC.

Lee-Anne has continually broken ground, from working with the Columbia Basin Trust to develop the Know Your Watershed Program (a regionally-based watershed education program delivered throughout the Columbia Basin); developing programs for CBEEN’s Wild Voices for Kids on endangered wildlife species, insects and flowers; and her ever-evolving work in unifying her community towards the common goal of clean, healthy water resources with the Elk River Alliance.

Lee-Anne is a charismatic educator; her love for nature and passion for water are infectious to her students, her peers and to the industry partners she collaborates with. To recognize her contributions to environmental education, Lee-Anne is a recipient of CBEEN’s Environmental Education Awards of Excellence!
