Teachers who are current CBEEN members may access one complimentary program for their classroom in the school year. Teacher members can redeem their complimentary program with up to $250 bussing reimbursement. Up to 200 complimentary programs are available annually to teachers across the Basin on a first-come, first-serve basis.

About the Program
This program is designed to educate students on survival situations; how to best prepare for wilderness adventures, mitigate risks and the important skills for managing incidents and surviving in the wilderness. We will practice survival skills so that students will have personal experience managing potential life threatening situations.
Lessons will include pre-trip planning, assessing and mitigating hazards, prioritization in the event of an incident, shelter and fire-building.
About the Community Educator
Mireille’s love for the natural world and children has inspired her to co-facilitate earth connection programs as the primitive skills instructor with the Four Nations Coalition. She has previously worked with Take a Hike Foundation for at-risk youth, Endless Adventures Youth Camp, Tipi Camp Nature Retreat, YMCA Summer Camps and as a sports coach. She is also a member of Nelson Search and Rescue.
