About the Program
Students will participate in a hands-on exploration of local natural area to gain an awareness of the number and variety of species present, and understand what makes up an organism’s habitat.
Students will start their day by various sensory awareness activities. Younger groups will set out on schoolyard discoveries through a “birds eyes view”. They are encouraged to identify, draw and journal their findings of the living things. Older students will use a larger area of study to make observations by being “Biodiversity Detectives”: an imaginative way of learning about the species diversity of their community.
