Senior Communications Specialist – Canadian Institute for Climate Choices

Salary: $75,000-$90,000 per year
The Senior Communications Specialist is responsible for media relations, writing, editing, and quality control of communications products. This position is central to sharing our research in compelling ways, continuing to establish the Institute as a credible, constructive and independent voice in Canada’s conversation about climate choices, and building support for sound climate policy solutions among our core audiences across Canada.
Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Senior Communications Specialist takes the lead on media relations for major releases such as reports, primarily in English-speaking Canada, and will be responsible for crafting news releases, key messages and social media and web copy. The Specialist will also lead on the development and execution of specific communications products, such as case studies, and will edit long-form material such as reports, as well as short-form pieces like blogs and tweets. An expert proofreader, the Specialist will often provide the final quality check before a product is published.
