Indigenous Education Developer, Selkirk College (Castlegar)
The Indigenous Education Developer (Developer) provides Indigenous curriculum expertise to college programs and courses. The developer also engages with faculty and instructors to incorporate Indigenous teaching practice and content into course delivery. The position supports the College’s Strategic, Indigenization, and Education Plans and incorporates priorities from the educational partnerships with First Nation and Metis partners on Indigenization and reconciliation. The Developer contributes to an integrated, team focused approach to improve program quality, teaching and learning support, and builds and sustains a culture of Indigenous educational excellence. The Developer works closely with schools and programs instructional union groups – BCGEU and SCFA; knowledge keepers and instructors from First Nation and Metis partners; and Education Council Standing Committee on Indigenization. The Education Developer will be required to stay current on Indigenous and post-secondary education practice and scholarship as a point of contact for inquiries from instructors, staff, and educational partners.
