On May 13 CBEEN supported the Revelstoke Local Chapter of EEPSA in hosting WildBC’s ‘Get Outdoors’ Workshop.

21 educators attended this workshop which was facilitated by Theresa Southam from Nelson. She shared her vast experience building wetlands and working with educators throughout BC. As a facilitator, she also encouraged participants to share their activities and strategies for working with children in grades K-7. We talked about how activities are directly linked to core and curricular competencies.

The participants found it very useful to experience the activity as well as seeing it demonstrated in the nearby forest. Hints were given regarding class management and steps to make the outdoor experience more meaningful for all.
