Teachers who are current CBEEN members may access one complimentary program for their classroom in the school year. Teacher members can redeem their complimentary program with bussing reimbursement up to $250. Up to 200 complimentary programs are available annually to teachers across the Basin on a first-come, first-serve basis.

About the Program
Introductory avalanche skills in-class exploration with snow science studies, avalanche terrain identification, and safety gear practice activities. Youth-oriented activities to help students understand avalanche risk, learn about and practice with avalanche risk, learn about and practice with avalanche safety gear and learn about avalanches and where to get information to help them make safer decisions about whether to venture into the back country or not.
About the Community Educator
Dave Quinn is a wildlife biologist, a BC-certified teacher and a certified wilderness guide who has lead expeditions in the Kootenays, the Canadian Arctic and West Coast, as well as overseas. Dave's work as a photographer and writer has been published in several adventure tourism magazines and scientific publications. As a wildlife technician, Dave has worked on the Purcell Mountain Caribou Study, the Rocky Mountain Lynx Project, the Columbia Valley Badger Project, the Swift Fox Census, and the East Kootenay Fisher Project.
