Teachers who are CBEEN members are entitled to one complimentary Wild Voices program each year. As funding permits, up to $250 in bussing costs will be covered for each complimentary program. Once a CBEEN member has redeemed their complimentary program, they may book unlimited programs at the subsidized rate. We are unable to cover bussing costs for subsidized programs at this time.

Exploring the identity and ecology of fungi in our environment. Learn how to identify edible and poisonous mushrooms. Students will gain an understanding of the functional roles of fungi in the ecosystem. In-class presentation followed by field trip to look for mushrooms in season.
Tyson Ehlers works as an ecologist in the Slocan Valley with a background in Forestry. Tyson has always been interested in nature and all it provides, not just the timber, but all of the values we derive from forests. He enjoys the thrill of hunting for wild mushrooms, as they are a perfect excuse for a walk in the woods.
