About the Community Educator
Shannon Bennett has a Bsc in Earth Sciences and has been working in environmental education since the early 80's as a Park Naturalist in Alberta and BC Parks. She loves to inspire, engage, connect, and motivate students to discover and explore their wild local bioregions, to develop curiosity, knowledge, awareness and appreciation of where they live.
"This educator was unbelievably organized. She was able to change her presentation due to an emergency at the school. She went beyond the requirements of what was asked. " - Karen Walgren
"Shanoon is awesome. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and she is great with kids. " - Scott Kipkie
"There were challenges communicating with the Educator prior to the trip which lead to confusion and inconveniences around delivery dates. This resulted in our class travelling for the program and no educator showing up. I feel this was due to confusing channels for communication. I left messages on the booking page but there was significant delay in response. Additionally there was no way to directly contact the educator via email or phone the clarify the booking details. These miscommunications could have been avoided. There was confusion on day of trip as the location was not accessible and no contingency plan had been arranged. It was a rewarding and engaging day but the quality and the program was impacted due to lost time searching for a new location on the day. " - Matt Gale
