About the Program
Whitebark pine is an endangered tree species in BC, it is also very charismatic - it grows only on mountain tops, grizzly bears eat the seeds, and every one of them was planted by an absent minded Clark's nutcracker. This program will teach kids about whitebark pine and get them active in conservation by planting seeds, seedlings, collecting cones, or protecting trees from mountain pine beetles.
About the Community Educator
Randy Moody has been working on the endangered whitebark pine for over 10-years, primarily conducting work in the Kootenay Region. He is the long-time director of the Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation of Canada.
Please note: this is the HALF-DAY version of the program. If you would like to book the IN-CLASS program, please do so HERE.
